JOIN US FOR OUR A UNIQUE FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY!
(Registration for shifts will open July 1st.)
Youth Unlimited has been asked to partner with Shaw Charity Classic once again. This is an event where the champions of golf come out to play and crowds of spectators gather.
This is when Ecology becomes our task, and where teamwork and networking are key!
Our task is to walk the greens and gather (pre-bagged) recyclable bottles/cans and empty the trash receptacles, refreshing them with new bags. It's not a glamorous job but it gives you an opportunity to sneak a peek at such an elite event, meet new people and help raise funds for a charity. We are organizing two shifts which are open to volunteers starting on the Friday.
The tournament is making a donation to Youth Unlimited for this project. If you sign up as a helper for one of our staff, every hour you work will help bring in a dollar amount for that staff member or program! So this is a tangible way to help support those you believe in! Last year our team was able to bring in $15,000.00+!
We will provide you with gloves, bottled water, a special parking pass, shuttling from the parking lot to the grounds and back at the end of your shift. There are food vendors on the course with food for purchase. You may also want to bring your own bagged lunch that can be stored in our coolers. You will be outside so please dress accordingly and you will be doing a lot of walking. T-SHIRTS WILL BE PROVIDED for you to wear while assisting this project.
1. WHEN REGISTERING AND PLANNING TO PARK AT THE EVENT, please be sure to request a parking pass in your submission and one will be emailed to you.
2. IF YOU ARE REGISTERING A GROUP, please let us know how many in your group will be joining you and how many parking passes you will need.
3. SHUTTLE SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE AT THE ST. MARY'S UNIVERSITY PARKING LOT and you will be brought to a main entry point on the golf course. You will want to grab a map and then follow to the meeting place as shown below. If this is your first time, our Ecology tent can be hard to find so please text me at the number provided below for on-site instructions.

We all experienced the craziness of 2020, but as crazy as it was, we were still able to serve! Last year, through Project Serve In A Box, youth and families were able to serve their communities in safe ways. We were also able to grow as a community as we dove deeper into the word of God and built relationships with each other.
As we look forward to the summer of 2021, we have come up with new ways that we can continue the momentum and create a positive impact in the communities around us this summer. Are you up for the adventure?! Join us for our SERVE WEEK this summer!!
