About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dependable and safety-minded Volunteer Tow Truck Driver to join our Worth Auto program — a social enterprise that supports Youth Unlimited’s ministry through vehicle donations and affordable automotive services.
This volunteer role is ideal for someone who enjoys driving, working with vehicles, and serving the community in a practical way. The Tow Truck Driver helps transport donated or client vehicles to and from our shop and partner sites, ensuring each vehicle is handled with care and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a flatbed tow truck to transport vehicles across Calgary and surrounding areas.
Load, secure, and deliver vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and safety regulations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tow truck and equipment.
Communicate clearly with staff, donors, and clients to coordinate vehicle pick-ups and drop-offs.
Support Worth Auto operations with occasional light assistance as needed.
Volunteer Requirements
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and Air Brake endorsement and a clean driver’s abstract (Class 3 an asset).
Minimum 2 years of safe driving experience; previous towing or vehicle transport experience preferred.
Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
References required upon interview.
Flexible availability, including occasional evenings or weekends.
Comfortable representing Youth Unlimited in the community with professionalism and care.
Volunteer Commitment
Time Commitment: 10–20 hours per week, flexible scheduling
